Human resources professionals can serve as good internal coaches for employees, but they might not get the chance because of trust issues, Jennifer McClure writes on her blog, Cincy Recruiter's World. While some intranets use standard HTML or web content management systems from a variety of vendors, a growing majority of company websites are run using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) – often referred to simply as SharePoint. There's been a lot of interest from communications practitioners about how to address employee demand for the incorporation of web 2.0."

In an article on Bangkok Post Business the author says: "With economic turmoil swelling the ranks of jobseekers, attracting talent seems an easy task, yet businesses now face the challenge of increasingly picky potential employees.

The IT era has accelerated the dissemination of information. Bad news travels especially fast so organisations have to recognise how quickly their treatment of employees will spread.

The change in communication media challenges employers to establish the right perception of their organisations among potential recruits, says Piyamitn Rangsitienchai, chief executive at the local recruitment company Prompt Professional Resources & Services.

"Employment branding is necessary to bring the right awareness of organisations' unique employment experience and cultivate meaningful connections with talent," he said.

Companies that can communicate their brands effectively will be better placed to attract professionals.
